HTC Vive Air are designed to capitalise on the growing popularity of VR fitness. As stated in the Design Guide description, the Vive Air is “specially designed for virtual fitness, optimized for high intensity with long use.” The interesting bit is that it comprises knitted materials enthused by running shoes that are breathable and quick-drying for better airing during strenuous workout sessions. The quick-release design allows the removal of ergonomic soft components for washing. The headset is undoubtedly very Quest-like in overall appearance, offering up four camera sensors for room-scale tracking and possibly also hand tracking. Also, the easy to wash and with better tracking capability makes a lot of sense. If HTC plans to release the device, it is still not certain if the company will also introduce other fitness accessories as well.
