SOFTWARE:
The iPad Air released with Apple’s brand new operating system, iOS7. iPad 4 OS however can be upgraded from iOS 6 to iOS 7.
PROCESSOR:
64-bit A7 processor, the same processor that powers the recent Apple release iPhone 5S, is included in iPad Air. The incorporation of M7 coprocessor would make the device even more performance effective. Eight times faster speed and 72 times improved graphics level than the first ever iPad, as quoted by the tech giant. iPad 4 runs on A6X dual-core chip microprocessor. Who wins the battle? Clearly, the iPad Air is almost twice as performance effective as the iPad 4.
BATTERY:
No difference in the battery life of iPad Air as compared to that of iPad 4 (10 hours). Only the battery size in iPad Air is smaller, considering the compact size of the device.
FLASH STORAGE:
Both versions are available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. iPad Air will release on Nov 1 in the United Kingdom with the 16GB version costing $399. Overall, many specs are similar. However, the iPad Air is better design wise, and is faster too. The improvements in iPad Air features as compared to iPad 4, coupled with the lighter and slimmer design, is bound to attract appreciation from Apple users.
